It's Golden

The Season has begun... the awards season that it is.
So it's the Golden Globe time and the red carpet was a little disappointing for me this year. I didn't see anything that blow me away but there were few dresses that I did like and here is a look.

p.s.
I don't know why Tina Fey and Amy Poehler didn't host any sooner, they were truly amazing!

Home Sweet Home

Anyone that knows me well enough knows that I'm the kind of girl that watches HGTV on my free time and daydreams of my 'Dream Home'. I honestly don't know where the interest of interior designing comes from or why my heart skips a beat whenever I see a red door on a beautiful home. Okay so my heart doesn't really skip a beat but you get the idea. I was never the girl that dreamed of her wedding day or what kind of a dress I would wear or play house. Actually I did play house--the kind where I rearrange our house and act like it was a 'staged home,' oh how I miss those days!

Now that I am older I'm thinking of getting a place of my own after I accomplish my two goals, that is. I don't want to think too much about it because whenever I get overly excited about something it tends to never happen for me. Anyway have a look at few photos I've found that I think gives glimpse to my taste. I love a white & black design, patterns, wooden floors, open cabinets, open spaces, modern rustic, and all!

Girl, sometimes you need a little encouragement...

because life can get us in a rut at times.

The Pixie

Ever since I chopped my hair off I've been really into super short hair styles...especially the pixie cut. I just love the balance between edge and femininity - it says "I'm a delicate flower, but don't mess with me because I can and will kick your ass." I'm not quite bold enough to rock the look just yet, maybe one day. Until then I'll just admire the look from a far...

What's your favorite hair style?

My Red Carpet Standouts

First post from me and I thought I'd give you all a glimpse of my style by showing some of my favorite red carpet looks. You'll notice I'm into a lot of black... and lace.

Hope you enjoy. :)

Reading Time

So I've had this love affair with books since I can remember. Growing up was very tough for me and books made me feel like I belonged. I can pick up a book and be gone with the pages for hours, it was my safe haven. A place where my imagination can run wild unlimited and was I free to be MYSELF!

The books on my bed:
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
I've had this books for many years now and it has been a source of inspiration. Walt seems to know the right words to put a smile on my face.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I heard so much about this book and of course the movie and so I bought a copy. Read it, saw the movie, and now whenever I have a moment I re-read my favorite parts. I am absolutely in love with the book & movie.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris
This is a book that was given to me by one of my good friends Tara who seems to have a bit of an obsession with David. I'm excited to give this book a try because according to her I'm going to "love it!" The last book is also from her which I started to read few days ago and so far I am enjoying it.

What was your favorite book growing up? Have any suggestions for me?
If we have any readers out there who happen to stumble upon our blog please share with us... We would love to hear from you.

New Year, New Goals

I’ve never been the one to stick with New Year's resolutions simply because I can NEVER keep them. Everytime I say to myself “This year will be different!” but it’s never different. January 1st comes and I make New Year's resolution and by mid February I’m giving up, whether its procrastination or realizing it was an unrealistic goal, my white flag is blowing with the wind in no time.  I don’t know why I set myself up for these failures. However though; I mean business this year! I am very consistent if you can’t tell. 2013 is the year that I act like a grown up and accomplish my goals, it’s an inevitable!

Two things need to happen this year:
1- Pay off my student loans
2- Buy a new car

One thing about me is that I don’t like having anything over my head. This student loan has been bothering me since I graduated in 2010 and there is nothing I want than to pay it all off, so that I can finally breathe. I have a great paying job and if I play my cards right these two goals should be do-able by the end of this year. After that I am free to travel with no worries. I can finally take that Europe trip I have been dreaming about since I was 8 years old. The age I discovered who Audrey Hepburn was in the movie Roman Holiday, oh she was magical!

So what are your goals for the year?
